STYP Grant
As announced at the Quarterly Meeting on June 18th:
STYP is pleased to announce we are offering a Professional Development Grant as a Member Benefit! For all the details, visit our website!
We’ve extended the Deadline an additional two weeks so all applications are now due July 22nd!
STYP BLI Scholarship Applications are Open
STYP has set up a scholarship fund to aid in sending young professionals through the Broome Leadership Institute (BLI) program. STYP shares BLI’s mission of developing community involvement in young professionals within the Greater Binghamton community, and enhancing their leadership skills and network of community contacts. The STYP BLI scholarship will cover a large portion of the program costs to a current STYP member(s) who would like to attend the program, but are in need of financial assistance to cover the program’s costs.
Past scholarship recipients include:

2017 – Emily Hotchkiss
2016 – Kyle NedlikThis year’s program begins in September 2018, and applications for the program are due by July 31, 2019. If interested in applying for this opportunity through STYP, please send an email to bli@styp.org expressing your interest by July 31st.
July 22nd- July 28th Volunteer at LG&T Tennis Challenger
The Levene Gouldin and Thompson Tennis Challenger is quickly approaching; this year’s tournament will be held July 22-28, at Recreation Park, Binghamton NY and Binghamton University! To register and to see volunteer slots available, visit http://binghamtonchallenger.com/volunteer/
There are five types of volunteer positions available: Ticket Booth, Drivers, Ushers, Food Service, and Credentials. This event is a lot of fun to volunteer at, especially if you sign up with a friend, and you can choose a time to volunteer that best taylors to your schedule.
You will receive a confirmation email confirming your shift(s) shortly after you have signed up (using the link above). Once a position has been filled, it will be removed from the website. Positions will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Should you have problems signing up, or have any questions, contact Rebecca Stollman at (rlstollman@gmail.com) and/or cell phone # (765-2584).
July 25th at 6 PM – Summer Celebration!
Summer is here and it’s time to celebrate! Join STYP for the Annual Summer Celebration at Remliks. We’ll be out on the patio soaking up the summer sun and enjoying the good weather!
Anyone in attendance who signs up for STYP membership at the event will receive membership through the end of 2020, for just $35, and will receive a gift card to a local restaurant/venue when signing up! Don’t forget, all STYP members get the CommuniKey with their paid membership. Members are also eligible to apply for our newest benefit: The STYP Grant!
If there is one STYP event that you don’t want to miss, it’s this one! We can’t wait to see everyone there!

The hYPe awards will recognize young professionals who demonstrate success in their career, industry or in making a positive change in the Greater Binghamton community.

August 24th at 10 AM – Animal Care Sanctuary Volunteering
Do you love animals? Are you interested in helping out the community?
The Animal Care Sanctuary in Milan, PA is looking for help while they remodel. The Southern Tier Young Professionals will be carpooling down to help out! We’ll spend a couple hours helping with the remodel and then take some time to walk a few of the dogs at the sanctuary as well. Please follow the registration link so that we know how many people to expect!
