On April 23rd, STYP is once again teaming up with Tioga State Bank for the Southern Tier’s 4th Annual CANSTRUCTION!
Canstruction® is an international hunger-relief competition where architects, engineers, contractors, and community members compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food. We will be constructing a structure centered around a hot air balloon, in the spirit of Binghamton’s annual Spedie Fest Balloon Rally.
The canned food used in each structure will be distributed throughout CHOW and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier to emergency food programs throughout Broome County, including soup kitchens, the backpack program, and other community meal programs.
Please email Kyle Nedlik at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in being on the Canstruction design committee, or helping out with the construction and/or staging of the cans.
More information on the event can be found at the links on the following page: http://foodbankst.org/index.asp?pageId=201
Our structure will be up for a week at the Oakdale Mall after the build date for public viewing, so check it out if you can!
Modern Marketing Concepts, Inc. is proud to host the ninth annual Greater Binghamton Scholastic Challenge (GBSC) this May 24, 2016 at Binghamton University. High school students from across the Southern Tier compete every year for scholarship or seed money in this one-of-a-kind entrepreneurial showcase. Each year, the students who participate in the GBSC are partnered with the best resources and mentors. Local business people and entrepreneurs who serve as GBSC mentors work diligently with the students to produce quality, innovative ideas. The commitment is nominal, and the excitement of event day is second to none. If you’re interested in mentoring a local student group, email Gina Natale, GBSC coordinator, at email@example.com today!
