Board members are the fiduciaries who steer nonprofit organizations towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as making sure the nonprofit has adequate resources to advance its mission.
This session will provide board members of nonprofit organizations with a critical orientation to the responsibilities, knowledge, and skills needed to be an effective board member, as well as offer practical guidance for implementing the more challenging aspects of governance practices. Check out this free workshop at WSKG’s Vestal, NY location – registration is available by clicking here.
From 5:00 to 6:00pm, non-profits will speed network with business professionals with the goal of recruiting new volunteers and board members for their organizations. After the Speed Networking, networking will continue with other business professionals at the After Hours Event until 7:30pm.
Anyone who is a STYP member can attend free of charge, as STYP members are automatically Chamber members! Sign up today, and learn about the many volunteer and board opportunities that exist in the area.
Join the STYP/Tioga State Bank Canstruction team in the Oakdale Mall as we construct a can structure of Binghamton’s NYSEG Stadium! STYP will be helping the Binghamton Rescue Mission with the rehabilitation of their shed! The rehabilitation of the shed, which is located behind the Rescue Mission’s main residential building, will involve volunteers replacing gutters, drain spouts, and the door. Volunteers will also add a fresh coat of paint to the shed’s exterior, clean out the interior, and aid in wood removal and replacement. Items will be returned and reorganized within the shed upon completion.
STYP will need approximately 6-8 volunteers to help with this project, so if you are interested in participating, please contact Kyle Nedlik at email@example.com.
