September 14th – Southern Tier Full Day YP Summit
The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce and the YP Alliance invites all Young Professionals in our region to join us on Friday, September 14 at the Holiday Inn Binghamton for an innovative conference. With the tremendous success of last year’s inaugural half-day YP Summit, this year’s conference will be a full-day with half-day options.
Nationally and regionally known speakers will lead over a dozen interactive break-out sessions throughout the event. The topics will cover a wide spectrum of personal and professional development topics for Young Professionals.
The YP Summit is a great opportunity for companies and organizations to provide professional development opportunities geared toward, and planned by, millennials. Companies can take advantage of corporate pricing levels to send larger groups of young professional staff.
The unique aspects included in the YP Summit are critical to the retention of young professionals in the Greater Binghamton region. The structure of the day allows for meaningful conversations and connections made between attendees, as well as building business and leadership skills.
The Young Professionals (YP) Alliance is a new strategic partnership of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce. We’ve established a network consisting of the Southern Tier Young Professionals, The Emerging Leaders Society, and The Broome County Urban League Young Professionals to empower the young professionals and emerging leaders of Broome County.
Visit the website below for more information on the Summit as it is updated! http://greaterbinghamtonchamber.com/ypsummit/

August 3rd, 4th, 5th – SpiedieFest Volunteering
Volunteers are being sought to help at this year’s SpiedieFest and Balloon Rally, happening August 3-4-5. STYP is coordinating a large contingent of volunteers at the festival. Volunteer opportunities are helping at the entrance gates to check for passes\take money from those who need to pay and helping at the beer\wine garden tent to sell tickets needed to exchange for beer and wine at the bar.
Volunteers receive a SpiedieFest volunteer t-shirt, an entrance pass to the festival for the entire weekend, free parking for the weekend and their name in a drawing for a free hot air balloon ride. All shifts are 3-4 hours long and there are a variety available throughout the weekend. If interested, send an email to Douglas Camin at doug@dougcamin.com – Doug will collect names of all interested in volunteering and on June 20th will send an email to those interested with a schedule of times available for volunteering. He will then coordinate getting information, shirts and passes to those volunteering.
