TRANSPORTATION: We will aim to carpool in groups of 3-4 people depending on whether you will be bringing your own gear or not. Those who are happy to drive others in their own vehicle will be reimbursed for gas at $0.14/mile. You will be notified of your carpool groups via email by Saturday, March 10th.
Those who are driving up separately please meet by 10:30am at the Group Sales window next to the Rental Shop.
March 15th at 5:00 PM – Speed Networking for a Cause and After Hours Event
From 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., non-profits will speed network with business professionals with the goal of recruiting new volunteers and board members for their organizations. Registration is FREE for STYP members, as all STYP members are automatically Chamber members. Registration for Non-STYP and/or Chamber members is $15.
Business professionals will have 1 minute to talk about what kind of non-profit volunteer opportunities interest them; Non-Profits (limit one person per non-profit for Speed Networking) have 1 minute to pitch their organization to the business professional. After 2 minutes the business professionals move on to the next non-profit! Speed Networking will provide a fun way to discover non-profits in our community, while at the same time finding new ways to get involved and make a difference!
After the Speed Networking ends at 6:00 p.m., networking will continue with other business professionals at the After Hours Event until 7:30 p.m. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres sponsored by: the BLI Alumni Association, STYP, United Way of Broome County and VAST. Cash bar will be available.

March 1 at 5:30 PM – “Beat the Winter Blues” Event with YPA
Looking for a way to beat the winter blues? Join the YP Alliance, STYP, United Way Emerging Leaders Society of Broome County, and The Broome County Urban League Young Professionals at the Fun Zone at Midway Lanes with fellow young professionals and emerging leaders. Complete with laser tag and bumper cars! Tickets are $10 ($5 for STYP members) that gets you a credit for the Fun Zone and apps! A cash bar will also be available.
Please register by February 26 so that the YPA can estimate an accurate headcount. Registrations will also be taken at the door. Hope to see you there!

February 17th at 2:00 PM – Hilltop Valentines Social
STYP is hosting a social for the residents of the Hilltop Senior Living Center, on February 17th. Entertaining and rewarding, this event provides great memories for the residents of Hilltop and volunteers alike!
The social will run from 2:30pm til 3:30pm. Volunteers should plan to arrive by 2:00pm to help set up for the party. Clean-up should only take about 15 minutes following the conclusion of the event.
We also need help with baking or purchasing cookies, brownies, etc. for the event, in addition to needing volunteers to help set-up and work the event.

Our group will be in the lounge area straight through the main doors, and in the area to the right of the bar.

STYP Annual Election
Nominations are now open for the 2018 STYP Annual Elections. If you are interested in serving on the Executive Committee, we would love to hear from you.
The STYP Annual Elections for officer and board member positions will be held during the Annual Meeting on January 25th at The Little Venice.
The 2018 Candidate List will be updated for voters to review as nominations come in.
