An Evening with Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo
Join the Southern Tier Young Professionals and Binghamton University’s Center for Civic Engagement for a conversation with Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo. Assemblywoman Lupardo will share her efforts to support young professionals and encourage more young people to call our community home, discuss the importance of civic involvement, and encourage young people to find opportunities to make a difference in our community. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in discussion and ask questions.
Light refreshments will be served.

The YP Summit is a great opportunity for companies and organizations to provide professional development opportunities geared toward, and planned by, millennials. Companies can take advantage of corporate pricing levels to send larger groups of young professional staff.
The unique aspects included in the YP Summit are critical to the retention of young professionals in the Greater Binghamton region. The structure of the day allows for meaningful conversations and connections made between attendees, as well as building business and leadership skills.
The Young Professionals (YP) Alliance is a strategic partnership of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce. We’ve established a network consisting of the Southern Tier Young Professionals, The Emerging Leaders Society, and The Broome County Urban League Young Professionals to empower the young professionals and emerging leaders of Broome County.

Chucksters Event with BU Alumni!
STYP and the BU Alumni are going to Chuckster’s!
Join us on August 29th from 6 PM until 8 PM for mini-golf, a hot dog, drink and ice cream! This is a family-friendly event featuring Chuckster’s challenging miniature golf course which is home to the world’s longest mini-golf hole! Other attractions at Chuckster’s include state-of-the-art outdoor laser tag, a 700-foot dual-racing zip line, batting cages, and a 27-foot climbing wall!
The event will be $5 for STYP members and BU alumni and $10 for all others.

Summer Celebration!
Summer is here and it’s time to celebrate! Join STYP at Remliks on the Patio for our Annual Summer Celebration
Anyone in attendance who signs up for STYP membership at the event will receive membership through the end of 2020, for just $35, and will receive a gift card to a local restaurant/venue when signing up! All STYP members receive a free CommuniKey subscription, are eligible for the professional development grant, and receive special member only pricing for paid events, among other membership benefits.

How to Look Good (On Paper)
Come join us and the Southern Tier Young Professionals on June 27th from 6 to 8 PM as we decode the do’s and don’ts of putting together a resume, and we find out what the heck to actually put in a cover letter!
Jordan Smith, Career Consultant Assistant in Residence With the Fleishman Center at Binghamton University will join us to give us some tips and tricks.
We will also be talking about how to utilize LinkedIn to make you stand out online in your professional network.
Bring your Resumes and your Cover Letters and let’s put you to work!
Event will be held at the Vestal Public Library in the large meeting room from 6-8pm.

Quarterly Meeting
Join STYP on June 18th from 5:45 PM until 8:30 PM for the Quarterly Meeting at the Endicott Visitors Center where we plan to make a very special announcement to benefit our membership.
Our guest speaker will be Richard A. Materese, the Town of Union Supervisor.
Food will be provided by Town of Union businesses.
After the meeting, tours of the museum will be available to all who are interested!

On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, we will have a mixer at Lost Dog from 6 PM – 9 PM. Live jazz music at 8 PM by Miles Ahead Jazz Quartet. Instrumentalists can bring their instruments and join in on the fun!
